Type of Drill Bit to Use with Install of Replacement End Link Set # RO57FR
Question:
I bought this unit last fall and was unable to install them until now. I also bought the roadmaster end links. The problem is the end link bolt wont go through the hole and as per instructions I tried to open it up with a 1/2foot drill bit per instructions and ruined 2 drill bits, that metal seems really hard. What does your shop use to complete this task ? I checked the factory end link and it goes through.

Helpful Expert Reply:
When installing the end link kit part # RO57FR you do sometimes need to use a 1/2 inch drill bit to enlarge the holes on the sway bar. You do need to make sure you are using a drill bit designed for metal and not softer materials as they won't survive. Titanium drill bits tend to work the best for drilling into harder steel so that would be what I would recommend.
