Will 6k Dexter Hub & Drum Fit on 7k Dexter Drop Axle

Question:

Hi, I would like to know if the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4 E-Z Lube Spindles - 94 Long - 7,000 lbs Item # 8327872 would work with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 6,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 12 - 6 on 5-1/2 - Galvanized # 8-201-51UC3-EZ. I know thats putting 6k hubs on a 7k axle, but Id prefer not to change rims to being 8 bolt. I know the outer bearing are different numbers but both are I.D. 1.250 so Im hoping they will work. Thank you for your help

Yep, the two are indeed compatible. You were right on about the hub bearing, since it has the same inner diameter, it will fit the 7k axle. So you can use the following together:

- Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4" Drop E-Z Lube Spindles - 7,000 lbs # 8327872

- Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 6,000 lbs # 8-201-51UC3-EZ

Please note that you will need to abide by the lowest-rated component of your set up, which is the 6,000 lbs of the hubs. I also wanted to mention that if you need U-bolts to mount the axle, use the U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-8.
