How To Add More Ground Clearance To a Pop-Up Camper with Leaf Springs
Question:
My pop up has a low clearance and I want to flip the axel for more clearance. However, as I look at it the axel is attached to leaf spring a a slight forward cant . If I flip the axel to the other side of spring, there would be an even greater forward position on leaf spring. What should I do??

The Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8" diameter axles or part # K71-385-00 for 3" diameter axles would be a great addition to add more ground clearance to your pop-up camper. These kits simply change the leaf spring location from under the axle to above to provide lift. They'll lift the trailer in an amount equal to the thickness of the axle and leaf spring pack roughly.
In regards to the forward cant on your trailer, this looks to be caused by a longer than usual shackle strap which I have not yet seen before and question its correctness. I recommend replacing this for a standard option like the Shackle Strap - 3-1/8" Long part # TRSL313.
