How To Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector On a 2005 Toyota Tacoma

I have a 2005 Tacoma, it doesnt have trailer wiring and Id like to wire it for a 7 way trailer plug. Id like to be able to tow trailers with brakes. Can you please tell me everything I need?

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma you'll first start with a 4-way, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118496 which is plug-in-play. Then, you can adapt this to a 7-way using a kit like the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. This kit also has everything you need to install a trailer brake controller commonly used on trailers with a 7-way connector. If you need one, I recommend Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160.
