How To Convert M and M Trailer with 12 Brakes from Hydraulic to Electric
Question:
I have a M and M Trailer that has hydraulic brakes, and was wanting to change them to electric brakes. The brake shoes are 12x2. The trailer is a tandem axle so Im looking for the left and right brake assembly. Can you help me with the correct part numbers I need

Expert Reply:
If the trailer uses 12" x 2" braking assemblies then you can pretty easily switch to electric brakes with the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-464-465. If the trailer had hydraulic drum brakes before then you can reuse your old hubs/drums. The only other thing you'd need is the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector part # HS381-9000 and if you don't already have an electric brake controller, the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN Trailer Brake Controller part # TK63VR.
