I have the perfect hitch that is confirmed for your 2016 Subaru Forester XT With Dual Exhaust!
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13144 has a bolt-on installation with no welding required. It has a gloss black powder coat finish that is over a protective base coat that offers a superior rust resistance.
The trailer hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight up to 3,500 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 525 pounds. I would recommend checking your vehicle's manual to find out the proper towing capacity of your vehicle.
The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143865 will give you a 4-flat connector, and make it to where your trailer's stop, turn, and taillights will mirror your vehicle's stop, turn, and taillights. This harness plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, either behind the driver's-side trim panel or in the spare tire compartment. Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. The Mounting Bracket # 18144 and Bracket # 18140 (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
The Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2 inch Hitches # C45554 includes an 8-1/4 inch long, powder coated ball mount with a pre-torqued hitch ball; hitch pin and clip; hitch receiver lock with keys; hitch cover; and a storage case.
I attached a few installation video links below.
