Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Compatibility On a 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

Why no C13410 anymore with the 2020 Outback? The CJ is quite a bit more expensive and the only difference I can see is that it uses one less bolt ?. Im sure Im missing something but I dont know what.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 will only fit the 2010-2019 Subaru Outback Wagon. Your 2020 Subaru Outback was changed and required a redesign of the receiver. You will need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C67JR to fit correctly on your Outback. This new receiver has 3 bolts on each side versus the 4 but it also has an insert that slides into the frame for an additional mounting bolt. The crossbar and receiver are also shaped different to fit the new chassis.

I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 when you install the receiver. This will make it easier to route the 4-way wiring out through the floor and mount to the receiver using a Bracket # C58001. Then you will not have to run the 4-way out your rear hatch when needed.
