Tire/Snow Chain Recommendation for 2022 Acura MDX with 255/55R20 Tires
Question:
Hello, Was wondering if you could recommend some snow chains for my FWD Acura MDX 2022? I have 255/50 R20 tires on it. Its my first time driving in snow and Im renting a cabin up in the mountains of North Carolina during NYE. The car does a snow setting but I figure to have the chains in case things get out of control. Thanks

Thanks for reaching out - I'd be happy to make a snow chain kit recommendation for your 2022 Acura MDX!
I took a look at the owner's manual online and it says that your 255/50R20 tires have low clearance and so Acura recommends using the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains XB16 - Size 265 # TH01571265 for your application. Konig has the best snow chains by far and these are more of the basic set with the standard installation that you see with most other chains. If you are getting the chains as a "just in case" then this is what I recommend.
If you wanted to upgrade to something else we have the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains Easy Fit SUV - Size 265 # TH04115265 and then the next step up to that are the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains K-Summit XXL - Size K67 # TH2004565767. The Easy Fit uses a foot pedal to initially tighten the chain which wraps around the back side of the tire. The K-Summit style has a chain that only rides on top of the tread so you don't have to worry about back-of-tire clearance issues at all.
Attached are some review videos for each chain type for you to check out. Be sure to install the chains on the front tires per the manual.
