Can I Close Off One Tank So I Only Need One Emergency Propane Shut-Off Valve for 2 Tank Setup

Question:

I see the answer about needing two gasstops one for each tank. But why can’t I just close off one tank and put the gas stop product on the tank that is open?

It's really up to you how many you would like to use. If you plan on only keeping one tank open at a time while you're camping then 1 of the GasStop Emergency Propane Shut-Off Valve # GS24FR should suffice.

We just recommend using 2 for a 2-tank setup because it ensures that the valve is on both tanks (I know I'd get tired of swapping it back and forth) and a lot of setups include a regulator that has an auto-changeover feature meaning that when one tank is depleted the regulator starts pulling from the next one. In that type of setup both tanks need to be open all the time.
