How To Increase Your Fifth Wheel Trailer's Height To Level It With Your Truck

Question:

I just recently purchased a new 5th wheel and the way it sits when hitched bothers me. Would like to know if there are options to consider and making it ride more level. See photos! Also see pin box photo and I got Demco auto slide hitch.

Based on the pictures you provided the fifth wheel is sitting a bit nose high. The typical ways to help resolve this issue are to raise the pin box, which yours is already raised, lower the hitch head height, which you also can't do with your Demco Hijacker.

From there you'd be looking at using an over-under conversion kit like the # K71-384-00 or # K71-385-00 if your leaf springs were below your axles. It's hard to tell from the pictures but it does look like the leaf springs are already above your axles so this wouldn't be the correct solution.

Instead of the over under kits you can use the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit - Tandem Axle # RR23QX to help raise your trailer's height by 1-1/4" or 2-1/4". You will need to check to ensure your trailer meets the following requirements for this to work though:

Minimum required distance from I-beam to spring mounting hole on hanger: 2-5/8".
Works with 3" wide x 3-3/4" tall hangers or 3" wide x 5" tall hangers and leaf springs up to 2" wide.
