2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. Do I need the THKIT 3142 or will the TH7602B clamp right on to my factory roof rails?

In order to use the Thule TH7602B crossbars on your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will need to use the Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet # THKIT3142. You will replace the mounting points on your Jeep with the fit kit. I have included a video that demonstrates this.
