Universal Mighty Mounts Adapter to Use an Older Yakima Ski Rack
Question:
I have an old Yakima Set of ski racks that I want to use on an aftermarket set of aero crossbars. They are 3”wide and an inch tall so I know the mounts will work, but my question is what width are the blocks on top of the mounts that actually attach to the ski racks? I measured the space which they will need to fit into and it is 1 3/8” wide. Is that the width of the blocks too?

I contacted the manufacturer about the adapter dimensions. They did not provide me with the dimensions but they did confrim the Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories # Y03590 will work with ski racks made as early as 1990. The only series that they have confirmed incompatibility with is the FatCat series.
