Can Blue Ox Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock Be Trimmed?

Question:

Once the span of the shaft is determined can the shaft be cut to eliminate any excess unwanted length?

If you want to trim off the excess part of the shaft for the Blue Ox Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock # BLU56XR you are more than welcome to - I just recommend keeping at least one extra segment in place.

Really the only reason to not trim it is for longevity sake. If you end up getting a trailer that requires that part of the lock to be longer then you'll need to purchase a new lock instead of being able to use this same lock. But the call is totally up to you!

It is important to note that this does come with a 2-year warranty that will be voided if you modify the lock like that.
