How Does Thule Hullavator Attach to Crossbars with Rubber Strip in Channel

Question:

This question has been asked by others but the answers don’t really give any more information than “Yes.” The split rubber gasket doesn’t seemingly accommodate the t-bat installation and I can’t find any information on how to actually slide the t-bar configuration into the slide. I also tried removing the split rubber and I see no way for these to remain in place. Help! :

It looks like you are installing a Thule Hullavator part # TH898 in the slots of a crossbar/load bar and you are trying to figure out how the slot on top of the bar gets reinstalled. What you will need to do is decide where you want the rack on the bars of your rack and then cut the rubber strip in such a way that you can install it on either side of the rack.

If this is a Wingbar crossbar the the rubber strip needs to be pushed down as the T-bolt slides above it.
