How Does the Blue Ox Patriot Braking System Now When to Apply Brakes

Question:

Saw instructions to install patriot. How is it activated in motor home. What sends the signal. I know its remote activated but what operates the remote control. Thanks

The Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR has an inertia sensor built into it so that when it senses you are slowing your tow vehicle down it will apply the correct amount of braking power to towed vehicle.

The remote is there to allow you to fine tune the aggressiveness of the braking and/or manually apply the brakes of the towed vehicle if needed, but for normal braking once you get the unit set up you would not need to mess with the remote.
