Can The Thule Top Track Roof Mount System Be Installed On A Bare Roof Of A 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

Will this work on a 2019 Chevy equinox? It’s a bare roof nothing to attach it to, I want something very stable and not one that clamps to the roof. Can I install it on my own? I have the equipment just need the location to drill.

Yes you can absolutely install the Thule Top Track Roof Mount System # THTP42 with your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox.

This system can also be installed on your own, the parts are very light weighing only 3-lbs for the pair so you shouldn't have any issues with that, however it's also never a bad idea to have a buddy get a second set of eyes on it.

To install it you're just going to need to align the tracks to each other and position the ends equally apart from the reference line on your vehicle, mark your holes in the track, then remove the track and drill your holes.

Additionally, you'll want to be sure to not drill deeper than 1/4".

Finally cleanup your area, and attach the hardware to your roof and to your rails, and tighten.
