Options to Charge a Motorhomes House Batteries Using the Motorhomes Battery While Boondocking

Question:

Hello, I have a motorhome that has the 7 way adapter for towing a trailer. I am interested in charging my house batteries in the motorhome with this accessory while boondocking, but Im not sure it will work. Im thinking it wont work since the adapter is used to supply power to the trailer and not reverse, but wanted to ask to be sure. Thank you

I have an alternate solution for you, but you are correct that you are not going to be able to charge your house batteries in your motorhome using your 7-way.

You can use the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED96FR. This option will charge up your batteries using your motorhomes battery. This option will work while you are driving. Fuse kit and cable available separately.

- 30-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 12-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # RED86FR
- Battery to Fuse Holder Cable for Redarc MIDI Fuse Kit # RED66FR

If you are going to be stationary while boondocking, your best option will be to use a generator like the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator # 289-SUA2000i.
