Excellent idea to go with a tankless water heater to replace your Atwood heater. Tankless heaters give you immediate hot water right away and use much less energy, so it's truly a major upgrade.

As for the best option, I recommend the Furrion tankless water heaters because they give you the largest amount of hot water - 144 gallons per hour - are designed more robustly than other heaters to withstand the movement and vibration that occurs in a trailer, and are easy to use with the included wall-mounted thermostat. There are a couple options for the Furrion heaters, with different door sizes:

- 18" x 18" Access Door: Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR68SR

- 16" x 16" Access Door: Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR

Your Atwood heater has an odd 18" x 14" door, so you'll have to cut some space for the height with either option. I did want to give you options for both widths though in case one size would be easier for you.

Both measure 12-5/8" wide x 12-5/8" tall x 19-1/4" deep, so assuming you have that extra 1/2 inch, they will fit right in your current compartment.
