Does 10 Gauge Wire Run From Controller Back to 7-Way

Question:

Hello, The blue wire that comes from the brake controller goes to the plug, and return to the positive of the battery after a 40 amp circuit breaker. What about the wires gauge ?

The blue wire of the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller # TK90160 does get run to output circuit of the 7-way at the rear of vehicle using 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1. It does not route then back to the battery using that same circuit. The black wire of the brake controller does need to run to the positive post of the vehicle battery to power the controller. If your trailer needs a 12 volt accessory circuit like for a battery charge circuit then the 1:00 of the 7-way would need a 10 gauge wire ran from it to the positive battery post to complete that.
