Recommended 5-Bike Rack for a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse with Trailer Hitch
Question:
Can you give me some suggestions on the best bike rack for carrying 4 or 5 bikes? I have a 2017 Chevy Traverse that has a hitch. I am looking to put mine and my kids’ bikes on it at the same time. My oldest is 15 and my youngest is 9 so almost all of the bikes are adult size. Chances are we would only take 4 bikes at a time but I’m curious about options for taking 5. I also don’t want something that’s really expensive if that’s possible. Thanks.

We have a great option for what you are looking for. The Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # C18065 can accommodate up to 5 bikes and has a tapered design which will allow you to carry both adult and kids bikes. I know you mentioned that almost all the bikes are adult size, but this rack takes that worry out of the equation.
The Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # C18065 will fit in the hitch receiver of your 2017 Chevrolet Traverse and has a tilting feature that allows you to access the back hatch area of your Traverse. This bike rack can handle up to 45 lbs. per bike for a maximum capacity of 225 lbs. and includes an anti-wobble hitch pin.
The rack also features a built-in rung on the back of the mast that provides an anchor point for a strap or a cable lock like the Saris Cable Lock # SA981 to secure your bikes to the rack.
