How to Determine the Clearance of Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack on a 2011 Toyota Highlander
Question:
For my 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with factory side raised rails that run front to back: I am wondering what the clearance would be between the bottom of these cross bars and the top of my vehicle to mount a Thule roof box. Thank you!

Expert Reply:
The Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack # JA7980 which is confirmed to fit your 2011 Toyota Highlander with raised side rails, will only raise your roof rack profile 1-3/8" above the factory side rails. I was unable to find how tall the raised side rails for your Highlander are. Your best option to determine how much clearance you would have, would be to measure how high your raised side rails sit and then add 1-3/8" to that measurement.
After you add the 1-3/8" to the height of your side rails, that will give you the clearance you would have for a Thule roof cargo box like the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629806.
