Does The 2017 Ford Escape Tow Package Include Sway Control
Question:
I have what looks like a factory hitch and wiring on my 2017 ford escape but how can I tell if I have a tow packageinch or sway control? I do not see anything in any on my control screens nor any buttons other than traction control. Is the traction control the same thing?

A tow package on a vehicle, like your 2017 Ford Escape, isn't going to have a sway control option. The traction control button you have essentially cuts the power running to your wheels when it detects a loss of traction to help prevent you from sliding more.
If you're looking for sway control for your trailer then you'll want use a weight distribution hitch that comes with sway control or a simple friction sway control like # 17200.
To determine the correct weight distribution hitch you'll need to know the tongue weight of your trailer. Typically this is 10-15% of the trailer's GVWR. Each weight distribution hitch has a tongue weight range that it's rated for, and it's best to find a hitch where the tongue weight of your trailer is in the middle of the hitch's capacity range.
For example, if you had a tongue weight of 300lbs then the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450 would be a great option to reduce sag on your vehicle and trailer sway.
If you can tell me the tongue weight of your trailer I'll find the correct weight distribution hitch with sway control for your needs.
