Can My B&W Companion From My Short Bed Truck W/ OEM Pucks Be Used On A Long Bed Truck W/ OEM Pucks?

Question:

Current setup. 2017 F-250 6.7L Single Cab Short Bed with a Companion sliding hitch that attaches to OEM pucks in bed. Will be upgrading Tow Vehicle to a F-350 6.7L crew cab long bed, also with the pucks. Could I still use the Companion hitch in the LB? I am not sure if I would have problems because of the sliding hitch and LB. Any thoughts? Thanks

Yes, you can still use the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3370 that's in your 2017 Ford F-250 with your new 2022 Ford F-350 long bed.

The purpose of a sliding hitch is to allow the hitch to slide back, giving you the necessary clearance when making 90° turns in your short bed truck. With your new truck being a long bed, you can still use this hitch you will just leave it in the tow position as it is unlikely you'll run into a clearance issue.

If you're interested in a non-slider hitch with a bit more capacity, you can check out the:

-B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package # BWRVK3305.

This hitch has all the incredible qualities as your # BWRVK3370, but this hitch is stationary and is rated for 5,000 more pounds of towing capacity.

Or if you're not wanting an entire new hitch, you can just swap the base out with the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty # BWRVB3300.
