Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 1999 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4
Question:
My truck appears to be a bit of an oddball when it comes to exactly matching parts available. It is a 1999 Chevy Silverado 2500 4WD. It is NOT a HD - It is just a 2500. Will your front hitch part number 31302 fit my truck without drilling?

Expert Reply:
Curt front mount trailer hitch # 31302 is designed for the 1500 series and not the 2500 series. For your 1999 Chevy Silverado 2500 you would need # 65028. You may or may not have to drill. There will be at least a 1/2 inch hole that will be used to install the hitch. If your truck has a 1/2 inch hole it will need to be enlarged to a 9/16 inch hole. You will not have to drill any new holes. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
If your 1999 Chevy is actually a C/K series then it will require a different front hitch. If you do have a C/K 2500 then you would use # 31042 or # 65005 (does not fit if the vehicle has 8-lug wheels).
