Is It Normal To For My Roll Bar On My Lippert Solera Awning To Be Curved?
Question:
My roller measures about 221inch in length. It has a visible curve to it. Is this normal, or should it be straight? Can it be straightened if necessary? If replacement is needed, what is the correct part/part number for it? The awning is a Solera power awning on a 2018 Keystone Sprinter model 325BMK. It doesnt roll properly under power starts to operate then stops the manual emergency function does not operate properly either, gets to a certain point then the gears appear to skip. Have power to it, motor is working, gears/bushings were just replaced due to missing tooth on one of the gears. Thinking it might be binding or too much tension for the motor to overcome, wondering whether the aforementioned curve could be the reason for this...? Thank you.

Your roll bar for your awning should not be bent at all. Consequently, there is not a way to straighten the roll bar, and it will need to be replaced unfortunately.
Since you mentioned you have a 221" roller for your Solera Awning, you can use the:
-Solera Rollbar for 19' 1" - 20' Long Awnings # LC33FR and cut it down to the length you need.
As far as your awning binding, I believe that to be attributed your curved roll bar. Since your roll bar is curved which means it is out of angle, causing your motor to work harder to function properly, and ultimately leading to binding.
