When you install the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 with the Wiring Adapter # 22292 you should not have to do anything else on your 2010 Ford F-150. Since it prevented your truck from starting you may need to check the fuses for the brake on/off switch(BOO). Newer vehicles require the brake to be pressed to start the vehicle and it the switch isn't getting power this would prevent the truck from starting. Check your owners manual for the location of these fuses as well as to ensure any fuses for the trailer brake controller were not removed. There is no programming required to be completed by a dealer.
If you find a damaged fuse for the brake switch be sure to check the connectors for the brake switch and brake controller to ensure that there is not a loose connection that may have caused a short that damaged the fuse.
