Recommended Converter And AC/DC Distribution Panel For A Mini-Camper Build

Question:

Good day, Im in the process of getting all parts and materials together for a future mini camper build. I need an a/c-d/c electrical distribution panel that will charge my lithium battery but also allow for the solar panels to do the charging of the battery when no shore power is available. Is the pd4135k the right choice? Or would I need to add a component to achieve this?

The Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 35 Amp # PD4135K would charge your lithium battery while still allowing you to charge the battery with solar power as well. The solar panels can be wire to the battery without connecting into the panel. The converter reads the battery charge level and adjusts the charge sent accordingly so it can handle a second charge source being on the battery at the same time.

My only pushback is just the amount of circuit breakers that you could use in this specific unit. One spot would need to be a single breaker that would act as your main and the other two spots could have twins giving you four breakers for your camper. If you're fine with that on this particular build then definitely go for it.

Personally, I recommend going with the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 45 Amp # PD4045KA to get that extra circuit breaker spot.

I've attached a video below where I installed a similar model in an Airstream to help walk you through the installation process.
