Trailer Wiring Harness for Non-US Market 2022 Chevy Colorado
Question:
Hello I have a new 2022 chevy Colorado that was manufactured for the non US market. I need to install trailer light wiring. I have done this many times on varies trucks in the past and have an electrical background. My truck has brake lights and running lights connected to a single filament bulb which increases in brightness when the brake is applied. The turn signals are on a totally separate bulb. Im assuming the brake and running lights are controlled by a body module. Any suggestions on how I can add this connector to my vehicle? I need a simple 4 wire flat connector. Thank you.

We might have a plug and play option that could work for you, the Hopkins # HM11141164 which would install as shown in the linked video. You'll need to remove the taillight assemblies to access the connector that attaches the taillight to the vehicle's taillight wiring harness. You can compare the connectors on the # HM11141164 harness to what's on your truck, I'll provide some close up photos of the connectors for easy comparison.
If the connectors you find don't match what's shown in the photo, you'll need to hardwire the trailer connector, using part # C59496. You'll use the provided circuit tester to check the wires in the truck's taillight wiring harnesses as a helper activates each taillight function in order to determine which wire carries which function.
