You can certainly tow the Yakima Rack n Roll trailer, # Y08106 with the new hitch on your 2013 Volvo C70. But, you will first need to consult the vehicle owners manual for the capacities of the vehicle. Then check the trailer hitch for a sticker that lists its capacities. Whichever is lower, the vehicle or the trailer, is the rating you need to go by.

The Yakima trailer weighs about 100 pounds and has a 250 pound capacity so the gross trailer weight would be a mere 350 pounds loaded to the maximum. This would but the tongue weight at about 35 pounds so no worries there either. Tongue weight is the vertical weight pulling down on the trailer hitch.

You will also need trailer wiring to operate the lights on the trailer. If you are having a shop install the trailer hitch you will want to ask them about trailer wiring as well or visit your local Volvo dealer because there are no aftermarket trailer wiring harnesses available for your 2013 C70 at this time.

If your hitch does not come with a ball mount (also called a drawbar or stinger) then you will need to add one. The trailer hitch on your vehicle will most likely be a Class I or II hitch and with these Class hitches you are supposed to use the ball mount recommended by the hitch manufacturer. This is because the hitch is tested with that specific ball mount and given its rating based on those tests.

If there is no ball mount recommended you can use # C45522. This ball mount is meant to be used in the rise position on your vehicle. The rise position means the platform at the end of the ball mount will be higher than the hitch receiver. For a ball, the Yakima trailer couples to a 2 inch ball so you would use # 19258. You will also need a pin and clip, # PC2, to hold the ball mount in the trailer hitch receiver.
