K-Source Replacement Mirror Control Functionality In Normal And Tow Positions

Question:

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and have been considering these mirrors as a replacement for the one I have, but require some clarification first. I have seen your answer to another customer stating that the adjustment motors in these mirrors do not correct for orientation. I contacted K-Source themselves, who responded that they DO. Can you clarify? It might help to do a video about it, demonstrating how they respond to the power controls in each position down/normal and out/towing. If they don’t, I would imagine when the “up” control is pushed, the left mirror tilts up while normal/horizontal position and left/outward while towing/vertical. But if it does self-correct, “up” would tilt the mirror up in either position. Again, a video clarifying this would be appreciated, or perhaps a new install video that demonstrates it.

Helpful Expert Reply:

I spoke with K Source, the manufacturer, and they stated that certain models like the # KS60113-114C have a sensor that communicates with the control button to know when the mirror is in normal or the tow position so that the buttons function correctly no matter the position.
