Will Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Interfere With Kick Sensor on 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C99FR will likely interfere with the hands free function on your 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum. This is the case for any hitch you install due to the location of the sensor. More than likely you will need to place your foot to the side of the receiver tube to activate it but there is a chance the function will be lost.

If you decide to install this hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR instead. This has the exact same design and capacity as the Curt but features a matte black powder coat finish. This does a better job of hiding dirt and scratches when compared to the glossy finish.

If you plan on doing some towing, you will also need wiring. If you have the factory tow package you can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK74FR. If you don't have the factory tow package you will need the # TK99FR. Both of these will provide you with a 4-way to power a trailer's signal lights. If you want a 7-way connection the # TK57VR is also available.

For a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
