Will 6,000 Pound Fastway System Work for 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH
Question:
I want to make sure Im estimating my weight correctly to purchase this e2 sway control hitch: FA94-00-0600. We have a 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH, with GVWR 4000 lbs. The UVW is 2990 lbs. We are pulling it with a 2016 Chevy Suburban. This e2 Im looking at says GTW 6000 lbs and TW 400-600 lbs. Ive never weighed the RV loaded, and am hoping I can just use this information to buy the correct anti-sway e2. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.

When it comes to choosing the correct weight distribution hitch the most important factor is tongue weight. Ideally you want your loaded tongue weight, and you want to measure using a scale like the # e99044. We can, however, estimate based on the information you gave me.
Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your trailer weight. At your GVWR of 4,000 lbs that would be 400-600 lbs. After looking up the 2018 Sonic Venture 169VBH it looks like the dry tongue weight is 410 lbs, so you should be able to use the # FA94-00-0600 without any issues.
You want to be somewhere in the middle of the tongue weight range on your WDH. Since the tongue weight for the Fastway is 400-600 lbs that will be perfect. I still recommend verifying this information or weighing your trailer to be sure. Since the hitch ball is sold separately you will also need the # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2" ball or the # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16" ball.
I have attached an installation video along with some helpful articles on weight distribution and tongue weight for your reference.
