Can The Furrion RV AC Systems Be Installed On An 8 Thick Roof

Hi Experts Kevin recommended the Furrion Chill Premium RV Air Conditioner System # FR92PR for our Luxury Bus which we are converting into a Luxury room for our small Hotel on the Big Volcano Island. As he suggested I watched the install video and it answered a lot of my questions but one remains. We will be installing this unit in the space currently occupied by a rooftop escape hatch which is 22 x 22 with a half inch lip on top and an 8 inch Ceiling thickness as it also accommodates a Moon Roof. As your provided package according to the Video contains some height adjustment shaped ductinginch that goes between the roof and inside units and if we place spacers inside the 22 x 22 hatch hole to make it 14x14 is it not possible to extend the internal ductinginch that separates cold from return air to fit 8 inches instead of 5. If for some reason that is not possible then would it harm operation if we simply terminate the 14 x14 spacer at 5 inches from the top and have the inside air handler unit slightly inset by 3 inches in the hatch hole. Also does this unit have the manual control option with the two dials on the Inside unit... In fact are the 4 bolts that are torqued into place between roof and inside unit the limiting factor... This vehicle will not be driven so use of the escape hatch for the AC is not an issue.

The air distribution box included in the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - White # FR55PV cannot sit inside of the hole so you would just need to get longer bolts to make up the extra 3 inches you have and more ducting to make up the gap. These items can be found at your local hardware store.
This particular unit does not have control knobs on the air distribution box, but instead has a wall thermostat for operation. If you would like a unit with knobs on the air distribution box then you'll need the Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner and Air Distribution Box w/ Built-in Thermostat # FR92PR.
