Parts Needed to Run 12V Power to Trailer Battery With 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca
Question:
Hi, I am looking at installing a hitch and wiring harness for my 2006 B9 Subaru Tribeca to tow a pop up trailer. Im wondering what the best way to run power to charge my 12V trailer battery is? Should I just buy your 4 way harness plus a 7 way adapter? I have an outlet in the back of the vehicle just inside the back hatch, am I able to run power off that into a 7 way Adapter to charge the battery? Thanks in advance!!

In order to maintain the battery on your trailer battery I would add the wiring harness to your 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca. To be clear, the power from your vehicle will not be able to charge the battery, only maintain it. If you need to charge your battery you will need a charger like the # CTEK56353.
You will have to start by adding a 4-way. I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118461. This will plug into the connection point in your rear cargo area. I would also choose the Tekonsha over other options since it is the most reliable. Once installed, you will need to add the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else you need to install a 7-way on your vehicle.
After you add the 7-way, you will be able to plug in the 7-way from your camper and maintain the charge on your trailer battery. Again, you will not be able to actually charge up the battery from your Tribeca, it is just a maintenance charge.
I have attached some installation videos for your reference.
