There are a few differences between the Yakima RidgeBack 4 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02458 and the Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting Y02462. The first is the overall length of the rack. The Yakima FullTilt is a bit longer because it measures 14" from the center of the pinhole to the back of the upright mast. The RidgeBack, on the other hand, measures 11-1/2". Secondly, the weight of the racks are different. While the FullTilt weighs 47 pounds, the RidgeBack weighs only 35 pounds. The advantage of the FullTilt is that it already comes equipped with the cable lock (which is the add-on # Y02466 for the RidgeBack) and it also allows you to adjust the distance between the cradles where the cradles on the FullTilt are non-adjustable. Aside from these differences, everything is the same.

If it were me, I would go with the FullTilt due to the included cable lock and its overall black style. If you want to transport women's bikes, children's bikes, or step-thru bikes, you need a bike frame adapter bar # 64005 for each of those bikes. With the adapter bar, your bikes receive a straight, horizontal plane that is required to attach to the arms of the rack.

If you need a hitch for your 2016 Mazda CX-5, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13315. This hitch provides you with a gloss outer coat over the base powder coat that provides you with better protection against rust and corrosion than our other models. Also, it includes an easy bolt-on installation that takes only about 50 minutes to install.
