Replacement Cover For Fantastic Fan On A 1985 Airstream Excella
Question:
Hi - My son just got a 31foot 1985 Airstream Excella with 3 roof vent fans, which we think are Fantastic fans, but arent positive. There are no labels or id plates on them we can find. In comparing them with other fans we can find on the net, these differ because they have a square frame that supports the whole cover. The entire frame lifts when the vent is cranked open from below, so no hinges are required on the frame nor any attachment for a lift arm. There is a square piece of clear acrylic mounted on top of the square frame, so when the frame is down the vent is effectively waterproof though not very attractive. Any idea what vent this might be? Do you think one of your standard Fantastic covers would work taking off the hinge and arm support? Thanks

It's hard to say without seeing it what kind of fan you may have, however the MaxxAir UniMaxx Universal Replacement Lid for RV and Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-335002 would work as it is a universal cover and will fit just about any fan on the market, and is likely to work on the roof vent you have on your 1985 Airstream Excella.
If you decide you want to upgrade, and replace your existing fans, but stick with the Fantastic name, the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote # FV807350 is a great upgrade and comes with a remote that will allow you to control the thermostat as well as the manual and automatic speeds.
