Will RoadActive Suspension Help With Sag on 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty Towing 5th Wheel

Question:

I have gone to pulling a 5th wheel RV now and Im getting more squat in my truck than I like and I also feel some sway. The truck is a 2015 Ford F250 King Ranch diesel. I dont think I want to mess with air bags so would the Road Master system or the Super Springs be good options? Also would you recommend replacing the bump stops with the Timbren or Sumo helpers at the same time?

Expert Reply:

Air bags can be tedious so going with a kit you don't have to maintain on your 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty is smart, and the best option to both help with the sag and sway you are experiencing is the RoadActive Suspension system. The correct fit for your truck is the following part number:

- RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit - Heavy Duty # RAS3611-SLHD

The heavy duty # RAS3611-SLHD is what you'll want for towing a 5th wheel due to the amount of pin weight in the bed of your F-250, and will help with squat because the downward force that would normally go to your Ford's OEM leaf springs will instead be transferred to the RAS Enhancement Kit, allowing your OEM leaf springs to work normally (instead of flattening out, causing sag).

The RAS kit will also actively counteract sway in the same manner; a flattened leaf spring leads to the body roll and sway you are experiencing, and because the RAS supports the weight, your OEM spring will be able to engage as it normally would when say occurs or during a turn. This kit will be the only thing you need in order to help improve your F-250's ride when towing so it isn't necessary to add something like Timbrens or SumoSprings, just the RoadActive Suspension # RAS3611-SLHD.
