Recommended Replacement Water Heater For An Older Atwood Water Heater

Question:

Pilot stays lit but Atwood Number MPD-91043 does not deliver propane to the heating chamber. There is a lever on the back of the regulator. I am not sure what it is for. Also I am questioning if the regulator needs to be replaced.

To me that sounds like you have a bad regulator, and it should be replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement regulator for your water heater has been discontinued and because of this, the best case is to replace the entire water heater.

I recommend checking out the:
