will this fit either a 2010 buick enclave or a 2012 chev impala. Also is a special bar needed for a girls bike?

The Thule Passage trunk mount bike rack will fit both your 2010 Buick Enclave and 2012 Chevy Impala. I have included a link to a video review of the rack for you.

You might not have to use an adapter bar, # TH982XT, for a girls bike unless it has a step through frame that drops low down to the pedal hub. Or if you do not mind having the bike not level. I do recommend the adapter bar because it will allow you to carry the bike more level which will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter bar works.
