Will Malone SteelTop Roof Rack Work with Rooftop Tent on 2018 Toyota 4Runner

I am looking at Item # MPG201 to carry a large roof top tent I need minimum 160 lbs dynamic. I have a relatively tight fit between the side rails of my rack and the brackets on the test - meaning the rack legs cant take up a lot of room on the inside of the cross rails. Im a bit nervous about the beefiness of the rack leg attachment even though it is rated to 165 lbs - any comments or guidance?

If you want to get a better feel of how the Malone SteelTop Roof Rack part # MPG201 will install and look on a 2018 Toyota 4Runner you can check out the video I have attached for you below, it's on a 2017 model which will be the same. The rack will work great for a rooftop tent just make sure it's under the 165 lb weight capacity and works with square bars. If you have any other specific questions I'd be glad to help.

It is up to you if you wanted to cut these Malone bars #MPG216. What I would suggest is getting the 50 inch version #MPG215 so you don't have to cut anything.
