How to Lower Nose of 5th Wheel Trailer With B&W 5th Wheel Hitch on 2020 Ram 2500

Question:

I just installed a rvk3600 in my ram in position one and 18” holes. I have 9 inches clearance at the tail gate and 10” at the front of the noise. Camper is high in the front. Any suggestion to level out. Lowering the hitch legs will only get me an inch.

In order to lower the front of your 5th wheel you can raise the pin box. This is assuming you have a set of holes available to move it up on your current pin box. This combined with adjusting your B&W Companion # BWRVK3600 should get you where you need to be. Keep in mind, you want at least 6" of clearance.

If you are unable to move the pin box the other option you have is to use an over/under kit to raise the back of the trailer. If your axles have a 3,500 lb capacity each, they should be 2-3/8 inches in diameter, in which case you would need the # K71-384-00. For a 6,000-7,200 lb axle which is 3 inches in diameter you would need the # K71-385-00. Each kit is for a single axle.
