Towing Capacity for Curt Hitches on a 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
It seems that there is a difference on the Tongue Weight and the Gross Trailer Weight of the 2 hitches. Curt #CU89FR: 600lbs and 4000lbs Curt #13437: 350lbs and 3500lbs Are these 2 really the same Hitch but different numbers? I have the Curt #13437. Thanks

It looks like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" item CU89FR (inactive) is the same hitch as the 13437 with just a different model number for our system. Being the same hitch they both have the same capacity which is well over or just above your 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon's towing and tongue weight capacity depending on which trim package you have.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" item # C67JR replaced both of them and has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. This hitches capacity is aligned with the maximum capacity of the Subaru Outback Wagon's top towing capacity.
If you have concerns about capacity you should check your owner's manual or call a local dealership with your VIN. They will be able to tell you what your car's capacity is. The hitch manufacturers typically rate their hitches well over the vehicle they go on.
