Do I Need To Replace My RV Ladder Or Just Repair It After Hit By A Tree

Question:

Hello. I think I have a SC exterior black exterior ladder on my 2022 Winnebago model 1808FBS travel trailer. I hit a low hanging tree and bent the right top of the ladder that curves over and attaches to the roof. The attachments to the trailer body are round with 4 screws each attachment. I can also send photos if needed. Do you make this ladder? If so, I need to buy parts or? Thank you in advance,

Expert Reply:

Yeah those trees really hate ladders and AC units let me tell you.

If the ladder or any part of it was bent I recommend replacing it on the grounds of safety issues.

Once aluminum is bent it looses a large amount of structural integrity. No one needs to fall off their RV while climbing the ladder to the roof.

We have the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder w/ Hinges - Aluminum - 99-1/2" T x 12" W - Black
# LA-401BA. This comes with all the hardware you need to replace the old unit.

We do have the Replacement Ladder Support Peg for Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder - Round - 12" - Black # 8531-B if there was not to much damage you can trim this down to size to replace the bad connection plates.
