Troubleshooting a Stromberg Carlson 2500 Electric Jack not Working
Question:
Just bought, received, and installed jack on trailer as specified in directions and listening to video on your site. Still dead. Same problem as other that prompted your video response to him. I will install nuts today as mine is also self threaded. I extended wire to my car battery to get power and maybe Im not supposed to do it this way?? I dont have any other battery for this utility trailer installed on this trailer-must I have this instead of using car battery?? Maybe I need separate ground wire to run from car battery? Im using quick disconnects for this single wire installation.

The Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack # JET-2500 that you referenced grounds through the mounting hardware. It sounds like you have the 12 volt power source connected correctly, but the jack is not grounding properly.
You did not say anything about having your jack installed onto your trailer so if you have not yet and you are just trying to test it before you install the jack it will not work until you do so.
