Determining The Correct Slide-Out Awning When Facing Limited Arm Clearance

Question:

The Solara Awning # LCV000163300 suggests that the item needs 7inch clearance from the slide box. That would give me approx. 9inch clearance to the bracket for my main awning. It would be more helpful to know exactly how far the mounted bracket extends past the 157inch fabric/roller. The flange of my box is 154inch but only has 5 1/2inch of clearance from the edge to the bracket of my main awning. Maybe you can provide some dimensions of the assembled bracket from edge of awning roller to end of bracket arm? The next size down would only give me about 1 1/2inch coverage on each side of the slide out roof.

The reasoning behind allowing for up to 7" of clearance is because Solera awnings can work for a specific range of measurements, meaning that if you were at the bottom of that range the awning could sit up to 7" past the flange.

The Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000163300 you referenced fits a flange-to-flange measurement range from 152" to 157". You can expect 3-4" of space required for the arms plus the extra 3" of awning, which when split in half for both sides would give you 1.5" leaving you with an estimated 4.5" - 5.5" of clearance needed to not come into contact with your other awning.

The work around to this would be to go down a size in awnings to the # LCV000163299 and just have less overhang. This awning fits up to 151" (not including the arms). The flanges on your slide out are 2.5" each so you could subtract 5" off of your 154" measurement and get a main body measurement of 149". This means that even with the smaller sized awning you'd still have an inch of overhang on each side.
