Switching From Flat Towing A 2012 Ford Focus To 2014 Honda CR-V, What Do I Need
Question:
Hi, I have a blue ox tow package for my class C and a 2012 Ford focus. I now have a 2014 Honda CRV. Can you tell me what/if I need to buy for this different vehicle? Thanks very much!

You will need the base plate for a 2014 Honda CRV that is compatible with your Blue Ox tow arm, and tow bar wiring that is compatible with your Honda CR-V. You will be able to use your existing safety chains and your supplemental brake system with the Honda CR-V.
The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, part # BX2258, is compatible with your 2014 Honda CRV and your tow
arm.
My recommended wiring kit is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part # RM-15267, because you can wire the towed vehicle so the brakes and turn signals travel along the same wire. You will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles, part # RM-88400, to make sure the flat towed vehicle's brake lights do not override the tow vehicle's turn signals.
I have included product description links and videos of all the needed parts being installed on a 2014 Honda CR-V below.
