Weight of EcoHitch & Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch For 2020 Chevy Bolt EV
Question:
Im considering the EcoHitch or Draw-Tite hitch receiver for my 2020 Chevy Bolt EV. Can you tell me what are the installed weights of the two units? Many thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The installed weight of the Draw-Tite is 25 lbs, while the EcoHitch weight is 32 lbs. Both of these hitches do fit your 2020 Chevy Bolt EV, but between the two the best option is the EcoHitch, which is the following part number:
- EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7359
The reason the EcoHitch # 306-X7359 is the best for your Bolt EV is because it has a 2" receiver, compared to the 1-1/4" receiver of the Draw-Tite # 24956; the Draw-Tite is also a Class I hitch. Additionally, when we installed both of these hitches on a 2020 Chevy Bolt EV, we found the EcoHitch had better ground and bumper clearance than the Draw-Tite.
The Class I designation of the Draw-Tite is important because it means you are limited to a Class I bike rack and can carry a maximum of two bikes, while the 2" receiver of the EcoHitch allows far more options and doesn't limit you to a 2-bike rack.
