The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98840 is confirmed to fit all trims of your 2021 Honda Pilot including your EX-L V6. I recommend this receiver as the matte black powder coating I have found to be more durable than the gloss black most other manufacturers use. This receiver has a maximum tongue weight rating of 900lbs with a maximum trailer weight rating of 6,000lbs. Using a weight distribution hitch increases trailer capacity to 8,000lbs. Be sure to verify your maximum ratings with Honda for your specific Pilot and do not exceed the lower of the 2 ratings.
If you are only pulling small trailers or using for a bike rack/cargo carrier the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760 will give you a 4-way flat connector. This will operate the lights for a trailer or Auxiliary Lights # C53201 for any hitch mounted accessory.
For larger trailers that use electric brakes the 7-Way T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 will be the harness you need. This will allow you to install a Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR for controlling the trailer brakes. The Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED59FR is needed to connect to the factory connector located near the brake pedal behind the dash.
