Is Wrench Needed to Install/Remove etrailer brand e99047 Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock
Question:
When the cargo carrier is attached to the hitch, and this lock is locked, and the nut and lock washer are tightened, how easy is it then when taking off the carrier? After you unlock the lock, can I simply turn the rubber end of the lock to take it out of the carrier, or am I going to need a wrench/spanner to loosen the nut first, then unscrew the lock out from the carrier?

You will indeed need a wrench to tighten and loosen the pin portion of the lock. When the pin portion is tightened, it provides the anti-rattle function by drawing the shank of the hitch mounted accessory tightly against the inside wall of the hitch receiver tube. You can see how this works by viewing the linked video.
The lock is compatible with the following etrailer brand cargo carriers:
• # e98872 (now discontinued)
• # e98873
• # e98874
• # e98875 (now discontinued)
• # e98991 (now discontinued)
