Replacement 12 x 2 Brakes For Dexter Torsion Axle
Question:
Blow out took out the wiring on my electric brakes I think the easiest fix may be to replace the brake assembly but Im confused by the axle: Dexter P15 SLR SN D4996561 label says 4800lbs. Which brake assembly would I purchase? Or can I easily just crimp new wires inside the existing assembly? They snapped flush to the brake assembly... Thanks!

You can certainly try crimping new 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 inside the existing assembly to see if that works. That would be the most cost-effective option for you, though it is possible the brakes were somehow damaged, so if that does not work, you would need to replace the assemblies.
Your axle is a Dexter Torflex torsion axle, and based on my research takes 12" x 2" electric brakes. You will want to verify that, which you can do by just measuring the inside of your drum, and if so you will need the following brakes, along with the mounting hardware:
- Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # 23-105-106
- Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Brake Assemblies # BRKH12
